Every year these few months before Christmas are full of anxiety and worries, most of us never know what to buy for our family, and the extended family, like the boyfriends and girlfriends of cousins we don’t really know that show up for the yearly Christmas dinner. The case is even more complicated with the people we do know, since we really have a hard time finding anything for them. During November I keep thinking of what I can get and then I usually spend more of December just looking around for suitable things to buy as Christmas gifts.
There is a solution for this kind of situation, if you do some preparation and research field you stand a good chance that you will not face a yet another stressful winter. Did you know that some people look around for their Christmas gifts in the summer and take advantage of early sales, so when the winter arrives they already have most of their gifts ready and hidden away somewhere. Your first step towards not having to stress about what to buy is to make fast decisions and follow them in the next few weeks.
Try and think in a time efficient way, you would like to go out shopping for everyone but this is sometimes impossible, to try and group your shopping and get as much as you can every time you go out, try and keep a list of all the people and all the gifts that you want so that if on your way to one shop you come across a nice set of shopping deals you can take advantage of that and delete some names of your list. You also need to financially plan your shopping so you wouldn’t go broke, this means that you should create a budget for each of the shopping cycles and not go over it, this way you will have total control over your holiday spending all the time.
The last thing is shopping for kids, they are usually the best kind of shopping to do, who doesn’t like to hang around toy shops?, now seriously, if you get good gifts for the kids the parents are satisfied and you wouldn’t need to bring out the impressive gifts for them, once you made a child happy, the parents are a piece of cake. So focus on the kids and try and provide the sales people as much info as possible, age and toy preference, and you should also ask around for the most popular toys of the season, the sales people in these shops know everything about that.
