Alcohol addiction has a big difference in definition compared to that of modern social drinking. In alcohol addiction the person and their lifestyle is included. This means that it cannot be concluded because of the body yearning for a drink. Recovery from this addiction is that the people must be involved to go into a very rigorous work to be able to avoid the bad habit.

For social drinking this is defined more on the moderate intake of alcohol which usually happens when there are social gatherings and occasions like weddings, birthdays, reunions and the like.

Alcoholism is termed for a person that is very dependent or addicted to alcohol. Once alcohol has entered the way of living of a person it will be difficult to dissolve. This has become a major problem which has destroyed many lives, relationships and career.

Many times alcoholism has brought a person into serious trouble like being caught in fights or even drunk driving which can be fatal. Tolerance is the time when the body will crave for the presence of alcohol. Without any help, a person can really suffer deep consequences and end up getting rehabilitation. Many famous people have been alcoholics because they could afford such vice.

When the alcohol is taken away, this will convey certain signs and symptoms that are associated with withdrawal syndrome such as anxiety, shakiness and nausea. If this withdrawal is not handled, it can lead to very severe cases of hallucinations, seizures and even death.

Alcohol is taken only for a glass or two. But in this case of alcoholism, if a person drinks more than three to four bottles of alcohol a day, everyday, it can be concluded as a sign of alcoholism.

Signs of Alcohol Addiction

1. Frequency. If the person keeps on making certain excuses just to get a drink even a glass of alcohol, this can be a start.
2. Solitude. It could be for past time or for primitive reasons, but if this person wanted to be alone and keep himself isolated in one place to drink.
3. Hostility. Many times the person doesn't want to be asked uneasy questions could become hostile. In the case of alcoholism, an example is when a husband was asked by his wife if he had been consuming alcohol again, and the husband is going to answer aggressively and indifferently, it can only be stated that he is into alcoholism.
4. Exhibiting very odd behavior. These behaviors are associated with tolerance to alcohol, the uncontrolled drinking, craving for more, violence, depression, decreased ability to solve even the easiest of problems.

Alcoholism is not healthy this can be prevented and resolved in time. Interventions should be focused on counseling with the help of those closest to the addicted person. Also, he must undergo the treatment programs that could completely rehabilitate them from alcohol.
